Book review of JAIL THE JUDGES (2020)

Bijlani's account of corrupt tentacles reaching forth from her chambers, to sweep wrongdoing and damage flowing from it under the carpet, enabled by Chambers [at 4, NEW SQ, LONDON WC2A3RJ] exploiting its systemic influence over dysfunctional regulatory bodies, other corrupt legal professionals, Machiavellian insurers and finally the corridors where justice ought to reside, is, at the same time, both emotionally harrowing and riveting to read.

The shocking racism displayed by the statement "I hate educated wogs" and the disgraceful attempts by legal professionals to exculpate the impact of the remark and the career damage flowing from it, especially where there was an abject failure by Chambers to take any meaningful steps to actively monitor and protect Dr Bijlani's practice, whilst allowing racists to continue to clerk her, filled me with disgust at the ethics present in my own profession, and left me appalled at the institutions who systemically failed her in her quest for justice.
